Day 1: INKA CHALLENGE TO MACHUPICCHU
Cusco – Ollantaytambo (short stop) – Wayllabamba (km 104) – Inti Punku(Sun Gate) - Machu Picchu
Early on first day at 4 am we will grab all travellers from their hotels. We will go to Ollantaytambo, where we will take the train to 104 km (1 hour 20 minutes). Whenever we reach 104km we will start the trek, climbing around 3:30 hrs to WiñayWuayna. Even as ascend you will be able to taking pictures of beautiful panoramas and views in to the sacred River Wilcanota. In the archeological site of WiñayWayna your tour guide will make clear explanation about function of this ancestral place. After enjoying a delicious box lunch we will continue over the classic Inka Trail to reach the Gate (Inti Punku). This place will have very beautiful and remarkable views of Machu Picchu Citadel.
After enjoying the views, we will descent the Trail around 1 hour to Machu Picchu where you should have 1 hour 30 minutes private introduction from your tour guide to you. In this time, you will see amazing constructions, the engineering and the terraces, the main places in Machu Picchu Archaeological site and exactly how these were used.
When you complete your visit, you will go back to Aguas Calientes by bus. Within the village, there are always lots to find. Shops, crafts, Art work. Benefit from the hot springs, buy remembrances, try new foods.
Once you will arrive to Aguas Calientes you will dinner with the tour guide, who will clear you about the way back to cusco..
We will need the find the train from Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo. (1 hour 30 minutes) Once you reach Ollantaytambo you will find your driver waiting for you. He will take you back by car to your hotel in Cusco (1 hour 30 minutes)
