The present day preoccupation all over the World for keeping natural areas, free of pollution and with non disturbed wildlife, resulted in the creation in Peru of different National Parks, Reserves and Historic Santuaries that involve strictly preserved and protected territories reaching approximately 5’833,648 Has. (58336 Km²; 22524 mile²) representing about 4.54% of the national territory. Inside the Inka region are the Machupicchu National Historic Sanctuary and the Manu National Park that all together involve 1’913,792 Has. (19137 Km²; 7389 mile²) that represent 11% of the regional territory.
The Manu National Park was established on may 29, 1973, by means of Law 0644-73-AG, with the aim of preserving its natural and cultural patrimony for the benefit of present and future generations. That same aim determined the recognition by UNESCO of the Manu Biosphere Reserve that today expands over a territory of 1’881,200 Has. (18812 Km²; 7263 mile²) in the provinces of Paucartambo in Qosqo and Manu in Madre de Dios; from all this protected territory 81.5% belongs to the Core Zone which is strictly preserved in a natural state, 13.5% to the Experimental or Buffer Zone that is set aside for controlled research and tourism, and 5% to the Cultural Zone where there are human settlements.

Day 1: Cusco – Bambu Lodge
Departure from Cusco, bound for Archaelogical Site of Ninamarca, crossing by high mountains to the typical and folkloric town of Paucartambo where we will have lunch and a little walk, and then we will continue our journey to the highest point of Three Cruces, where people go down around Cloudy Forest where with luck we will observe the national bird of Peru; the Cock of the Rocks, trogons and different varieties of animals like monkeys, medicinal plants, flowers. In the afternoon, we will arrive to our lodge where we spend the night.
Day 2: Bambu Lodge – Soga de Oro Lodge
After breakfast we will go to port of Atalaya and in the course we will stop for appreciate crop varieties and then the viewpoint where we can appreciate the dense vegetation of the Amazon jungle and the river Alto Madre de Dios, when we will arrive to Atalaya, we will have our motorized boat,that it will take us to our rustic lodge, in the way can appreciate, beautiful landscapes, animals and many birds at the edge of the river. and then where we hike in the afternoon and then dinner; spend the night in our comfortable lodge.
Day 3: Soga de Oro Lodge
This day we will wake up very early to go the clay lick of parrots and parakeets after we will have our breakfast then we will do a walk in the forest, we can observe varieties of animals as well as tapir, wild pigs, squirrels birds; as well as the eagles moneras flycatchers, toucans and giant varieties of medicinal plants and trees and timber trees when we arrive at the house disguised observe wild pigs eating minerals, after this activity will have time to hike, fish and swim in the crystal clear waters also we will see alligators maybe in the afternoon, then in the evening we return to the lodge and we will have a delicious dinner
Day 4:Soga de Oro Lodge – Aguas Calientes
This day we will continue our boat trip along the river Alto Madre de Dios where we will see many species of birds like different species of herons, parrots, orioles, and garrapateros buzzards, through various settler communities living along the river and we will visit the native communitie of Shintuya where we will walk in Population observing their typical houses .After a break we will headed down river arriving at Natural place of Waters Hot or warm water that has medicinal properties as well as for arthritis and bone pains and in the afternoon we returned to our hostel. Night at Hostel. Option night walk.
Day 5: Soga de Oro Lodge – Cusco
We will wake up very early to return to the port of Atalaya where our bus awaits us that will lead us to the city of Cusco and we will be arriving in the afternoon.
