Your tour guide will pick you up at your homestay, hostel, or hotel between 4:00 to 4:30 hrs. You must tell your Travel company where you are staying one day before departure and be ready and waiting for pickup.

During the first hours of the Humantay lake tour, the temperature is cold ( 5 to 9°C ) that why you have to bring extra warm sweaters, jackets, hats, and warm gloves. These will keep you warm and comfortable during this driving time to Mollepata. After 2-hours of driving, you will arrive at Mollepata, where you will stop for breakfast and get the last things you might forget to buy in Cusco, like water and snacks.

After breakfast, there is one more hour by car to Soraypampa. Once you arrive at this high mountain, you will be able to see the beautiful mountains Apu Salkantay (6230 meters above sea level) and Humantay (5250 meters above sea level). After a short time preparing day packs, you start the 2-hour trek to your destination about 2.4 miles (4 km). The way up to Lake Humantay is steep; however, groups are small, and the guide will let you take your time to enjoy and arrive.

After enjoying the first view of Humantay Lake, there is an optional small climb above the lake to the right or left, where you can enjoy a panoramic view.

Next, you have the easy part of your trek, going downhill to Soraypampa for another hour. Then you will take the private transportation back to Mollepata, where a local lunch will be waiting for you. Once you finish lunch, you will go back to Cusco. You will arrive in Cusco between 18:00 to 19:00 hrs.
