DAY 1: WELCOME TO AMAZON GARDEN LODGE

Cusco - Puerto Maldonado - Amazon Garden Lodge - Caiman Safari

  • Reception at airport.
  • Transfer in to Amazon Garden Lodge.
  • Introduction to our lodge.
  • Delicious lunch. 
  • 2 hours walk around our area.
  • Back to our lodge and rest.
  • Time to see caimans.
  • Dinner.

DAY 2: LAGO SANDOVAL - CANOPY OR KAYAC

Amazon Garden Lodge - Sandoval lake - Amazon Garden Logde

  • Breakfast and time to use mosquito repellent before starting out.
  • We hike 3 km to Sandoval Lake. 
  • We tour the lake.
  • We have lunch.
  • Back to our lodge.
  • Optional to go kayaking  or canopy 
  • Happy hour, dinner and briefing for next day.

DAY 3: GOODBYE TO THE JUNGLE

Amazon Garden Lodge - Puerto Capitania - Puerto Maldonado  

  • We have breakfast.
  • Optional visit to the parrots clay lick.
  • Transfer from our lodge to Puerto Capitania.
  • Explore Puerto Maldonado city.
  • Transfer to your respective bus stop or the airport.
  • Take bus or fly to your destination.

Day 1: Puerto Maldonado - Amazon Garden Lodge - Caiman Area

Once you arrived in Peru's biodiversity capital, (Puerto Maldonado), we will welcome you at the airport or bus station. Then our transfer will start to show you around the city.

After meeting your team you will go to Puerto Capitalia in order to board a motorized riverboat. Then we will navigate on the Madre de Dios river for 1 hour approximately before arriving at our Amazon Garden Lodge. There you will be welcomed by our adventure staff and get an introduction to our 60-hectare lands. Then our guide will organize the bungalow for your stay.

If you want, you can choose what type of room would you like to use,  just let know us by e-mail if you are a family or couple for a better room organization.
While you discover our lodge or if you prefer, take some time to rest, our chef will be preparing your amazing lunch with local productos.

Then all the group will gather to enjoy it together and start talking about the plan for that afternoon and night.

After lunch, our  tour guide will take you to on a hike for approximately 2 to 3 hours. You will see tropical fruits, native plants and trees and learn about the jungle. Then your guide will take you to some lookouts, where you can enjoy the toucans and other birds. Afterward, we go back to our lodge to rest Approximately 7:00 p.m. your group will leave with a guide on a Caiman Safari. As you cruise on the river you will be able to see the wild nightlife by the riverbank. 

At the end of the boat ride we will return for our dinner and talk about plans for next day.

Day 2: Amazon Garden Lodge - Sandoval Lake - Kayak - Canopy - Local Families

We will wake around 5:30 am to the sound of birds. Then we will go to enjoy our breakfast and get last details from our guide for the day. After breakfast you will go by boat for 20 minutes to the landing at Sandoval Lake. Then we have a hike of 3 km to the main stop of Tambopata National Reserve (Sandoval Lake). Here you will have the chance to see an exciting diversity of animals – snakes, howlers and hundreds of birds. Once we get to Sandoval Lake we will get into a smaller rowing boat and, with our guide and staff, you’ll go in search of the giant otters. Also waiting for you to discover are caiman, piranhas, snakes, tapirs, turtles, cormorants, herons and of course  lots of birds.  

Then we will go back to our lodge, where we can climb to the top of our 20 meter tower for spectacular views of the sunset panoramas of the Jungle. Also we can stop in a local families in order to see how native people leave.
if you still with energies we could go to do canopy or kayaking , your guide will listed all time how do you fell and then plan to do one of this activities.
Then we go dinner.

Day 3: Clay Lick - Puerto Maldonado

We will wake up early and get ready to go walk. Then if you didn't have the enough time earlier, you can visit the clay lick, where you can  to observe 3 to 5 types of parrots. Our tour guide will show you where  Usually lots of colorful parrots come to this area to eat the rich clay to get minerals that are critical to maintaining their health. We will go back to our lodge in order to enjoy our last breakfast before returning to Puerto Maldonado by boat.

Once we arrived at Puerto Capitania our car will take us to the city  where we can visit a local market and buy some local fruits for the last time. Then you will be taken to your bus station or the airport for your departure, 
make sure you don't forget anything in the lodge or at the travel office.

  • Sleeping bag (it can be hired from us US$5 a day) in case you want to sleep in tent.
